The panel will tackle emerging questions: What is new in Big Data? Can data be owned? If so, who owns them? The sources, intermediaries or commercial users? Is ownership private or collective? How can privacy be protected in an age of technological intrusion and self‐disclosure in the internet? How can and should Big Data be governed? How to relate personality rights and intellectual property? How to strike the balance between privacy, security and democracy?
